I love Etsy, but this book sounds like a lot of fun ...

Review
“A hall of fame for artistic impulses gone oddly awry.”—Salon
“Uproarious.”—Entertainment Weekly
HANDMADE? IT LOOKS LIKE YOU MADE IT WITH YOUR FEET.
A chicken poncho. A painting of a corn dog. A clock made out of an old “mostly clean” cheese grater. All this and more await you in the pages of Regretsy, a veritable sideshow of handcrafts gone wrong. Based on the eponymous hit blog and arranged in categories such as Décor, Pet Humiliation, and Christmas, Regretsy showcases the best of the worst, ranging from the hilariously absurd to the purely horrifying. Each page of this jaw-dropping volume features the actual seller’s online listing with a light coat of snarky commentary to give it a good shellacking. So join us as we descend into handmade hell and gawk, gasp, and marvel at the disturbingly odd artifacts that Regretsy has collected for your viewing pleasure, proving that you can never have too much of a bad thing.

Gaver fra tanter til overs?

Ikke? Jeg har en hel boks på lager .... kanskje skal jeg bruke denne ideen:
lace designs
Look for damaged pieces of vintage lace to recycle into pillow decoration. Salvage the best sections for the project and stitch onto colorful fabrics so the delicate designs pop. Or you can create your own pop art using a digital camera—we photographed a lace doily. Companies such as www.simplycanvas.com specialize in enlarging images and printing them onto canvas. All you have to do is snap, download, and push “send.”

Whatever Martha (Stewart)!

The brilliant minds behind 826 National have done just that in their newly released book, Thanks and Have Fun Running the Country: Kid's Letters to President Obama. "1. Fly to the White House in a helicopter. 2. Walk in. 3. Wipe feet. 4. Walk to the Oval Office. 5. Sit down in a chair. 6. Put hand sanitizer on hands. 7. Enjoy moment. 8. Get up. 9. Get in car. 10. Go to the dog pound." -- Chandler Browne, age 12, Chicago
"Dear President Obama, If I were president, I would tell people to not talk much. It wastes time. I'd also say to war: no more, no more, no more!" -- Catherine Galvan, age 6, Chicago
"Dear Obama, I have grown up with a very liberal mom and a very conservative day. Thank you for bringing my parents somewhat closer together. :) You are my idol Mr. Barack..." -- Olivia Roper-Cladbeck, age 12, Seattle
And, while it wasn't advice, exactly, we thought this was worth sharing:
"You are just like a big me." -- Avante Price, age 7, Seattle
